Ginger oil is a processed output liquid of ginger with a yellow or a light green color in an aromatic odor property of the spice family.Dried rhizome of Zingiber Official Rose is the main row material for the production through a process called steam distillation.The major part of this oil is covered by sesquiterpenes which have no pungency smell like the fresh ginger root.
Ginger oil is essential for cakes,bakery goods ginger snaps, spice snaps, and in soft drinks type and in condiment mixes mainly in a form of flavor section. Currently,Scientists and herbalists use different ginger components to prevent and treat health challenges associated with inflammation, like bronchitis, arthritis and ulcerative colitis. Ginger Oil Process Description
First, ginger in the dry form is milled successfully by grinder to the estimated mesh size.In this process, Steam distillation is the most preferable way for all essential oils including ginger produced in large scale factor.After the output steam in the boiler, it is mixed to an evaporation vessel that contains water and ginger powder. At a certain distance x above the level of the water, the ginger powder is on a grid that fills the bottom of the water vessel that the water is vaporized through an indirect process by using a steam flowing in a pipe coil of defined water submergence.
After a while, the water vapor and the distilled oil are recovered in a different water cooler and condenser which is coming from the evaporator vessel. A process called decantation in a Florentine flask separates the mixture that is flowing out of the condenser .Then,at the bottom of the flask,the distilled water leaves the flask and the essential oil is collected at the top of the flask. This is sent back to the evaporator vessel by means of second distillation to recover the soluble components of the oil.
There are two ways of extraction; the first one is steam distillation and the other alternative is solvent extraction. Solvent extraction technique is used for the extraction of ginger oleoresin However, to get essential oil, steam distillation technique is preferred. Nowadays, an essential oil type that contains ginger oil is highly needed due to its significance for health and related medical sciences.
